Experience and potential of the applicant

The “LGR Świętokrzyski Karp” Association has been operating since 2009 for the sustainable development of the fishing sector and areas dependent on fisheries. The organization has long been promoting inland fishing, fish products, and traditions related to the breeding and cultivation of fish, with a particular focus on carp.

As part of its activities, the Association:

  • organizes training, conferences, and industry seminars,
  • conducts nationwide and regional promotional campaigns,
  • carries out educational activities in the field of fishing, ecology, and healthy lifestyle,
  • organizes cultural and promotional events (fairs, festivals, exhibitions),
  • supports entrepreneurship development and professional qualifications in the fishing sector,
  • promotes interregional and international cooperation.

The most important achievements include:

  • nationwide conferences dedicated to the future of carp fishing,
  • the publication of the “Carp Strategy 2020”,
  • numerous study trips (Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary),
  • participation in fairs and events promoting high-quality food,
  • publishing a nationwide industry magazine “Świętokrzyski Głos Pana Karpia”,
  • organization of cyclical nationwide carp debates.

Objectives of the operation

The objective of the operation “Direct Sale of Domestic Aquaculture Products – A New Opening” is to increase demand and competitiveness of domestic fish products by rebuilding and developing traditional as well as modern forms of direct sale.

The project responds to changes occurring in the fish market in Poland, particularly:

  • the withdrawal of retail chains from the sale of live carp,
  • growing consumer expectations regarding freshness and quality of products,
  • the need to shorten supply chains and strengthen local markets.

The operation promotes direct sale as the shortest route for products "from pond to consumer," in accordance with current sanitary, welfare requirements, and market expectations.

Scope of activities (tasks)

The project includes four main tasks:

  1. Nationwide conference
    An informational-promotional and training conference for 100 participants
    “Direct Sale of Domestic Aquaculture Products – A New Opening”
  2. Field training – regional conferences
    9 events in the following voivodeships:
    Lublin, Subcarpathian, Masovian, Świętokrzyskie, Małopolska, Silesian, Opole, Lower Silesian, and Łódź
    – using a model point of direct sale, presentations, and fish tastings.
  3. Promotional materials and equipment
    Materials used in all project tasks, with nationwide and international reach.
  4. International conference for youth
    “Direct Carp Sale” – an educational-promotional event implemented in the Czech Republic.

Implementation locations

  • headquarters of the “LGR Świętokrzyski Karp” Association – Rytwiany,
  • nine voivodeships across Poland (nationwide tasks),
  • Czech Republic (international task).

Effects and results

The implementation of the project will contribute to:

  • rebuilding and strengthening traditional fish distribution channels,
  • popularizing modern forms of direct sale,
  • increasing the freshness and quality of aquaculture products,
  • improving production profitability for producers,
  • shortening supply chains and reducing environmental impact,
  • increasing food safety,
  • increasing demand for domestic aquaculture products.

An essential element of the project is the creation and promotion of a model point of direct sale, which will serve as a practical model of modern fish distribution that meets current legal requirements and consumer expectations.

Additional information

The project has a social nature, is implemented in the collective interest, has a co-beneficiary, and ensures public access to results through the project’s website.

The operation is conducted in accordance with the regulations of the European Fisheries Funds 2021-2027 program and meets the funding conditions of up to 95%.
