Carp Breeding

is a cycle usually spread over two or three years. Each stage has its importance and requires appropriate conditions, knowledge, and experience. It is a process that cannot be accelerated – it is based on the rhythm of nature and work adjusted to the changing seasons.

Everything starts with the fry, that is, young fish that are placed in specially prepared ponds. In the initial period, their development is closely monitored – the appropriate water quality, access to natural food, and conditions favorable for growth are recorded. This stage is the most sensitive, requiring special attention.

In subsequent months, the fish are gradually moved to larger ponds, where they continue to grow. The farmer controls their development, adjusts the feeding method, and responds to environmental changes. Contrary to appearances, this is not a passive process – it requires continuous presence and decision-making based on weather conditions, water quality, or fish condition.

In the second and third years, the carp reaches market size. This is the moment when the farm prepares for catches. However, before the fish gets to the market, it undergoes a so-called 'cleaning' phase, which affects the quality of the meat and its taste attributes.

Catches

Catches usually take place in the autumn. This is one of the most intense moments in the farm's work – requiring organization, experience, and cooperation of the entire team. This is when the multi-year breeding cycle ends, and the distribution and sales phase begins.

It is worth remembering that the entire process takes place in natural conditions, in earthen ponds, which are an integral part of the landscape. Carp breeding is not just production, but also managing the environment and caring for its balance.

Looking at the finished product, it's easy to forget how long and demanding the process leading to it is.
Meanwhile, every carp is the result of time, work, and experience. It is this cycle that makes direct sales – shortening the path from pond to customer – so significant.
